Prerna Awards

The competition’s main aim is to foster excellence in creativity by providing the platform to develop expressive talents and creative skills.

With a mission to create a community wealth and take pride in knowing their own mother tongue & heritage, we hope to make language not as school work, but as a form of communication and self-expression – one of the most important 21st-century skills.

Global Hindi Championship aims at enhancing and embracing the passion and respect for our language by including a storytelling competition using innovative techniques in the Hindi language on the theme, “Gandhi- Relevance in 21st century, Environment and stability or Innovation and Automation.”

Winners will move over to the Finale which will be held in Singapore and stand a chance to win prizes and an internship with an award-winning movie director.

PRERNA AWARDS 2018-19

Theme: Folktales retold with a modern twist

Raise awareness for folktales and spark creativity amongst participants while retelling them in today’s context.
Mr. Zaqy Mohamad, M P Keat Hong Constituency also graced the occasion with his presence and addressed the audience. The guest of honor was H.E. Jawed Ashraf, Hon’ble High Commissioner of India to Singapore.
Celebration of International mother languages day in Singapore with Indian mother languages and showcased Sindhi, Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Kannada & Sanskrit in addition to the four competition languages. This year Prerna (inspiration) competition was held across 4 different languages - Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and Bangla.

Eminent panelists like J. Manickvachagam, Venkat Padmanaban, Narayan Mohan, Ratnottama Sengupta, Aabid Surti, Dr. Vimalkanti Verma, Vivek Kumar, Saurabh Dwivedi, Abhinav Mishra, Shekhar Nansi, Sanjay Kumar, Zafar Anjum, Hemanshu Parekh, Hema Kripalani, Sameer Kumar, Mr. Jayadev Venkata Rathaniah.

Theme: My Earth, My Responsibility.

The second Prerna (Inspiration) Award in 2017 was spread over three languages - Hindi, Tamil & Urdu.
The guest of Honor was H.E. Mr. Jawed Ashraf, Hon'ble High Commissioner of India in Singapore.
Panel discussion on Individual Actions, Collective Impacts, chaired by Sahana Singh.
Keynote presented by Aabid Surti.
